New Restaurant Brings Wood-Fired Pizza to Canton
Genova Pizzeria features fresh, quality ingredients on pizzas that cook quickly under high heat, thanks to the 800 degree wood-fired brick oven.
It took one trip to Italy for Mark Younes to become intrigued by the country's famous pizza and to come up with the idea of bringing similar pies to Canton.
And in July, he did, with the opening of Genova Pizzeria in the Canton Center Plaza on Ford Road.
Younes, who grew up in the restaurant business by working and eventually owning his father's Coney Island in Dearborn, uses only quality ingredients such as imported, caputo flour, which is lighter in gluten and makes an exceptional thin and crispy crust.

Genova Pizzeria offers build your own pies, and specialty pie favorites, such as The Carne Amanti, a meat lover's version with bacon, pepperoni, and sopressata sausage. Or the 800 Degrees, with artichokes, fresh grilled chicken, basil and mozzarella cheese.
