Niche.com Ranks Plymouth 25th Best Michigan Suburb
Plymouth, Plymouth Township, and Canton Township all made Niche.com's top 30 Michigan suburbs.
PLYMOUTH, MI — How do you define a great place to live? According to Niche.com, which just released the 2017 Best Suburbs to Live in America rankings, there are several factors that a suburb is judged on, including school quality, amount of crime, housing trends, employment stats and access to amenities.
Based on those factors, as well as data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the FBI and the Bureau of Labor Statistics and more, Niche came up with the Top 100 suburbs in America and in Michigan. Plymouth ranked 25th, Plymouth Township 26th and Canton Township 27th, according to Niche. Ann Arbor, East Grand Rapids, Bloomfield Township, Beverly Hills and Troy rounded out the top five.
“I have never been in a place that was so family friendly, while still being a fun place for twentysomethings as well as retirees,” a Niche user wrote. “Plymouth is truly a well-rounded town, that is perfect, no matter what age you are! Lots of restaurants, shops and bars make downtown a busy center, while 500 yards down the road, there are quiet neighborhoods full of young families.”
