Hello Field Families,

Below is important information for this upcoming week.  

• School begins on Tuesday, September 7th at 8:55 a.m. and is a half-day for students.  Dismissal is at 12:10.  Kindergarten students will have a half-day on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

• Please see the attached map for arrival and dismissal procedures at Field.  We have a new back parking lot where student arrival and dismissal will occur.  If you are parking to drop off or pick up your child please park in the front parking lot.

• Attached you will also find a letter about construction updates and completions.

• On Friday, August 27,  the Wayne County Public Health Division released an Emergency Order for Control of Pandemic for all schools across Wayne County. Effective Immediately, all staff, students and visitors, both vaccinated and unvaccinated, are required by law to wear masks in Wayne County Schools. This order will remain in effect until community transmission within Wayne County is categorized as “Moderate” by the CDC for at least 14 consecutive days. Our P-CCS Mitigation Plans for 2021-22 have been updated to include the current masking requirements as outlined in the WCHD order.

Please be assured that we will continue to monitor local transmission data and trends and stay in close contact with the experts at the Wayne County Health Department.  And no matter what direction the pandemic takes in the coming weeks and months, we remain ready to pivot in order to keep everyone safe.  Our goal is to provide in-person learning for the entire year and we believe this new mask mandate from the county gives us our best chance to do just that.

• Plymouth-Canton Community Schools has an opt-out policy for students and families who wish to not have their images used in school- and district-wide media, including the district website, district and school social media outlets, as well as external media outlets such as newspapers and online publications.

• The USDA has extended the universal free meals through June 30, 2022.  All children can receive breakfast and lunch daily at no charge.  This includes students in the Virtual Academy.  VA families can get more information by clicking on this link:  https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uIpQ4c837D9w20Gw-iPGSL024LiG_1x5/view?usp=sharing

Although meals are free, it is still important to complete the free and reduced application.  The application supports other funding in areas of education, including discounts for pay-to- play, access for computer WIFI, college application fees and standardized testing fees.

• Food shortage and supply chain are nationwide issues, and our district cafeterias also may experience unavailable items or last minute replacements.  While we will do our best to ensure consistency, menus are subject to change. We will do our best to notify you if there are any changes. Menus on pccsk12.nutrislice.com may not reflect these changes. If you have a concern, please contact your Cafeteria Manager to verify the menu of the day.
