Students at Miller Elementary may have had to wait a week to enjoy listening to a good book, but that didn't dim the excitement as the school celebrated World Read Aloud Day on February 9th.

The celebration, which had originally been scheduled for February 2nd before schools were closed for inclement weather, saw five authors virtually “visit” Miller. All of the authors were generous with their time and offered to reschedule! Highlights of the wonderful day of reading included:
Karen Leggett Abouraya reading her book, “Malala Yousafzai: Warrior with Words”

Laurie Wallmark reading her book, “Dino Pajama Party”.
Winsome Bingham reading her Caldecott Honor book, “Soul Food Sunday”.
Dan Richards reading his book, “Once Upon a Goat”.
and Gabi Snyder reading her books, “Two Dogs on a Trike” and “Listen”.
The celebration will conclude next week when Mindy Yuksel reads Miller students her book “In My Mosque”!
