PCCS : Tracye Johnson Named New Executive Director Of Specialized Services For P-CCS

Tracye Johnson’s love of education was a big factor in her earning her new role with Plymouth-Canton Community Schools. The district’s new Executive Director of Specialized Services has been a lifelong learner and has spent her career practicing what she has learned in public schools throughout Southeastern Michigan.

Johnson was most recently the Assistant Director of Student Intervention and Support Services for Ann Arbor Public Schools. In that role she supervised and supported all special education teaching and support staff. She also directed general and special education staff professional development, coordinated staffing and hiring practices, and performed a variety of other instructional duties throughout the district.

Johnson also served as the Special Education Supervisor for the Education Achievement Authority in Detroit and was a special education teacher for the Detroit Public Schools and Farmington Public Schools. She holds professional certifications in a variety of areas including, special education supervisor, education specialist and has Michigan Administrator Certification. She even has several certifications and endorsements in the State of Georgia.

Currently working on her fourth degree from Wayne State University, Johnson has dedicated herself to learning as much as she can about her craft. She has a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Special Education, a Master of Education Degree in Educational Leadership and an Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Degree in Special Education Administration. And, she will soon complete her Doctorate Degree of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
