Happy Friday Wildcats! I hope that you enjoyed the unexpected snowcation last week.  The kids were excited to tell me all the fun things they were able to do during their snow days.  We are getting excited for our Valentine's Day celebrations on Monday, February 14th.  Thank you for sending in valentines cards early.  The students have enjoyed preparing for the celebrations.

  • For clarification, we are regularly cleaning shared classroom materials but we are not quarantining any shared classroom materials.
  • We want to remind families that students must have proper snow gear to play in the snow at recess.  This includes coats, hats, gloves, snow pants and winter boots.  We are noticing that several students are wearing boots that seem to be absorbing water, therefore, we are recommending waterproof boots so that students do not have to sit in wet socks.
  • Due to the weekly bus cancellations, we are noticing an increase in cars in the drop off/pickup loops.  As a friendly reminder, please do not park your car and get out.  Parents must stay in their vehicles and pull into the appropriate grade level loop and follow the proper procedures.  We recognize that the wait times are a little longer now but following the procedures allows the loops to flow smoothly and safely.
  • P-CCS, in conjunction with the Wayne County Health Department, will offer another vaccination clinic for the community on Wednesday, Feb. 23 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Canton High School.Pre-registration is required by clicking here. For those who received their first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine at the vaccination clinic on January 24th (including those 5-11 years old), you may receive your second dose at this clinic on February 23rd.  It will not be too late.
  • P-CCS is now hiring several Extended Day staff positions.  These positions serve the before and after school care programs at the elementary and middle schools. The positions pay between $12.15 and $16.33 per hour.  Hiring bonuses of up to $1,000 are included once a candidate completes the 60 day probationary period. For more information on these positions, please click on this link: https://hr.applicantcentral.com/pccs/Job_List.aspx Job titles include Club Connection Site Director, Kids’ Time Site Director, Kids’ Time Program Assistant and Kids’ Time Floater.
  • As the P-CCS Board of Education has done annually, it is again seeking community input on programs and activities that would reduce cost, increase revenue, increase enrollment, or identify areas of investment that could improve service for consideration in the annual General Fund budget planning process. P-CCS will launch the annual Budget Feedback Survey for community members on Friday, February 11 via the official district website (www.pccsk12.com) and social media outlets. The survey will remain open until Friday, February 25.  Survey findings will be presented and discussed during the Board’s budget process at a Regular Meeting later this year. Your participation is requested and appreciated.
