Plymouth-Canton Board Member Barry Simescu Resigns Seat
Citing increased work responsibilities, Simescu steps down from board seat.

The Plymouth-Canton Board of Education is seeking a new board member after the resignation Wednesday by former treasurer Barry Simescu.
Simescu, first elected to the board in 2004, announced his resignation Wednesday, according to the Canton Observer, citing increased responsibilities at work.
“I have new responsibilities at work, and I was just not able to balance them both,” Simescu told the Observer. Simescu works as a manufacturer's representative selling municipal water and waste water equipment, the Observer reported.

According to the Observer, the board will accept applications in the next 30 days and begin an interview process to select a new board member.
