PLYMOUTH, MI — A family-owned Plymouth diner says it is canceling its traditional Paczki Day celebration because of high egg prices.
Three Brothers restaurant posted to Facebook Monday that it won’t be selling paczkis this year due to the rising cost of eggs and staffing shortages.
Owner Chris Necovski told Fox 2 Detroit it would cost between $40 and $60 per a dozen of Paczki, as egg prices have jumped from $60 to $120 a crate since January.

"We have regular customers that are in here 5-6 times a week. So we know who they are," Necovski told the news station. "They know who we are. We have that relationship with them. To try to offer something that high, it just doesn’t make any sense."
Necovski said he hopes the restaurant will be able to bring back the tradition next year.
