Popular Ann Arbor Restaurant Closing After 33 Years

The neighborhood bar and grill was best known for its creative dishes, including burgers, chicken wings and housemade soups and salads.

ANN ARBOR, MI — A popular Ann Arbor restaurant is closing after more than 33 years.

Red Hawk Bar & Grill's, located on State Street in Ann Arbor, will close down for good on May 3, according to owners.

Red Hawks owners said they have struggled financially since the pandemic.

"The pandemic, coupled with rising food costs has made it increasingly difficult to continue operating in the way we had always hoped," Red Hawk's owners wrote. "The past few years have tested us in all the ways we never anticipated, and while we’ve fought to overcome these challenges, the financial strain has become insurmountable."
