Popular Taproom Opens New Southeastern MI Location

ANN ARBOR, MI — Beer fans have a new taproom to check out in southeastern Michigan.

Arbor Brewing Company opened a new taproom earlier this week in the former Session Room restaurant in Ann Arbor.

The new taproom, located at 3685 Jackson Rd. was renamed the Arbor Brewing Company Session Room after the purchase was finalized Monday. It joins a handful of other locations, including a brewery in Ypsilanti and both a patio and taproom in Plymouth.

"We made a promise to bring Arbor Brewing back to Ann Arbor after we regrettably had to close our original downtown Ann Arbor location during the height of the pandemic in 2020," Co-owner of Arbor Brewing Company Session Room Mike Collins said. "While it has taken longer than we had hoped, we held out for the right opportunity and now we’re making good on that promise and can’t wait to start pouring pints again for all the Arbor Brewing Company fans in the community."

Restaurant officials said they are maintaining the Session Room's existing staff and menu, which includes 70 beer tap handles. They also plan to add between 15 and 20 more Arbor Brewing Company beers.

The restaurant will also have seating for up to 240 guests and a beer garden that offers year-round dining, along with a heated tent for an additional 200 guests.

"Arbor Brewing has a storied history going back to 1995 as a pioneer in Michigan’s craft beer industry," Collins added. "As we look forward to our 30th anniversary next year, we are grateful to be able to continue the legacy once again in Ann Arbor. Cheers!"

Arbor Brewing Company is owned by Farm + Ferment, a Michigan-based hospitality group that includes Arbor Brewing Company, Bigalora Wood Fired Cucina, Cloverleaf Fine Wine, Michigan Hop Alliance and Northport Farms.

The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
