Popular University Of Michigan Garden Vandalized: Officials

Officials said roughly 250 peony plants had most of their flowers cut off.​

ANN ARBOR, MI — A popular University of Michigan garden was vandalized Sunday, according to university officials.

The incident happened at 6:14 a.m. Sunday at the University of Michigan's Nichols Arboretum in Ann Arbor, officials said.

Officials said roughly 250 peony plants on the north side of the garden (or about one-third of the garden’s 800 peony plants) had most of their flowers cut off.

No group or organization name was identified or has taken credit for this incident, though some papers were left behind, officials said.

The university released a photograph of one of those papers, which read, "Palestinian lives deserve to be cared for. More than these flowers."
