A Portillo's beef bus is coming to metro Detroit as anticipation grows for the opening of its second metro area restaurant.

METRO DETROIT — A Portillo's beef bus is coming to metro Detroit as anticipation grows for the opening of its second metro area restaurant.
The beef bus, which will serve up the restaurant's famous Chicago-style hot dogs, will hang around the metro Detroit area for a little over a week. Here are its stops:
- Thursday, March 21 - Portillo’s Livonia (13004 Middlebelt) 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Friday, March 22 - Plymouth Food Truck Park (39411 Schoolcraft Rd. Plymouth Township) 9:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- Saturday, March 23 - Glover Agency Easter Egg Extravaganza (777 W. Ann Arbor Trail, Plymouth) 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. (Free public event; kids need to be registered to participate in the Easter egg hunt).
- Sunday, March 24 - Ann Arbor StreetSide (S. Main Street & Liberty) 4 p.m. - 9 p.m.
- Thursday, March 28 - Plymouth Food Truck Park (39411 Schoolcraft Rd. Plymouth Township) 9:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- Friday, March 29 - Detroit StreetSide (Woodward Avenue and Adelaide Street) 3 p.m. - 8 p.m.
- Saturday, March 30 - Briarwood Mall (100 Briarwood Cir., Ann Arbor) 11:00 a.m. - 6 p.m.
The stops are to promote the restaurant's second metro Detroit restaurant, which will open in Livonia's Millennium Park, located at the intersection of Interstate 96 and Middlebelt Road.

There is no exact opening date yet, but the restaurant will begin interviewing candidates for jobs in April.
The new 7,900 square-foot restaurant will feature a garage-themed design with a dining room that sits up to more than 175 customers. There will also be a seasonal outdoor patio with room for roughly 50 additional guests.

The new restaurant will also feature Portillo's pick-up area as well as it's signature double drive-thru lanes.
Michigan's first Portillo's restaurant opened in Sterling Heights in 2021.
