The Council provides an opportunity for high school students to be a key contributor in parks planning. Applications are online.

From Wayne County Parks: Wayne County wants youth to participate in decision-making for programs and events hosted by the Parks division. The Parks division announced today open applications for the Wayne County Youth Advisory Council. The Council will be comprised of 13 high school students who will advise on activities hosted within the County’s 37 parks, two golf courses, marina and the Wayne County Family Aquatic Center.
“This Youth Advisory Council adds an important voice to our decision-making,” said Wayne County Executive Warren C. Evans. “Today’s youth bring a lot of great ideas to the table and their perspective will help keep our Parks programming and events enjoyable for all. I’m excited to see what they come up with.”
Youth, ages 14 to 18, interested in making a difference in their community should download the Youth Advisory Council application at www.waynecounty.com or make a request to Beth Hughes at bhughes@waynecounty.com.
