What's Open and Closed in Plymouth-Canton This Thanksgiving

Municipal offices, the libraries, and others change their schedules for holiday week.

Are you staying in town this Thanksgiving? Here's everything you might need to know about what's open and when:

Area offices

  • City of Plymouth: City business will have to wait until Monday as City Hall will be closed both Thursday and Friday. 
  • Plymouth Township: Plymouth Township Hall will be closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Trash collection will be delayed one day for the Thursday and Friday collection areas.
  • Canton Township: The township administration building, Canton Public Safety Records Bureau, Police and Fire Administrative Offices, and Ordinance Enforcement Unit will be closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving Holiday. The offices will reopen on Monday at 8:30 a.m.
  • Mail: The U.S. Postal Service will not have any post offices open on Thanksgiving, nor will there be any mail delivery or pickup.
  • Emergency: Always call 911 for police and fire emergencies as well as for any suspicious activity.

Around town

  • Library: The Plymouth District Library will be closed Thursday in observance of Thanksgiving. It will reopen Friday at 9:30 a.m, while the Canton Public Library will be closed both Thursday and Friday and will reopen Saturday at 9 a.m.
  • Entertainment: Catch the latest movie at Emagine Canton or Canton Cinema, both are open on Thanksgiving. New releases this week include Disney's "Frozen" and "Homefront."
