2 Teens Shot, 1 Killed In Oakland County: Sheriff

Two people have been arrested in connection with the shooting, and police are looking for two other suspects, officials said.​​​​

PONTIAC, MI — An 18-year-old man is dead and another teen was injured in a shooting Tuesday night in Oakland County, according to the sheriff's office.

The shooting happened at 7:49 p.m. near West South Boulevard and Highland Avenue in Pontiac, officials said.

When officers arrived, they found the 18-year-old Pontiac man unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his chest, officials said.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died, officials said.

Officers also learned a 19-year-old Pontiac man was shot and wounded, officials said.

A bystander took him to a nearby hospital where he was taken into surgery and is expected to survive, officials said.

Officials identified a third victim, who was not injured in the shooting.

Police did not identify the suspects or release a description.

"I commend the quick response by our team and the efficient work by our detectives to identify individuals involved," Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. "Senseless violence destroys far too many lives and as a society, we must find a better path."

The shooting is still under investigation and police asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case. Tipsters remain anonymous.
