3 Dead, Including 2 Kids, In Oakland County Crash: Sheriff
Investigators believe speed played a role in the crash, but were still looking into whether alcohol or drugs were factors.
PONTIAC, MI — Three people, including two kids, were killed in an Oakland County crash Friday night, according to the county's sheriff's Office.
The crash happened at 8:20 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Montcalm Road and Joslyn Road in Pontiac, officials said.
Officials said a 21-year-old Pontiac resident was driving a 2022 Honda Civic south on Joslyn Road when it crossed into oncoming traffic and veered off the roadway to the east.

The car then struck multiple signs and poles before re-entering Montcalm Road, where it slammed into a 2025 Chevrolet Malibu that was stopped at a red light, officials said.
The driver of the Chevrolet Malibu, a 37-year-old Pontiac resident, was killed in the crash, officials said.

Two passengers in the Malibu, a 6-year-old and a 4-year-old, both from Pontiac, were taken to McLaren Oakland Hospital where they died, officials said.
A third passenger in the Malibu, a 9-year-old child, was in critical condition at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak, officials said.
The driver of the Honda Civic, a 21-year-old Pontiac resident, was also injured and listed in stable condition at Trinity Health Oakland Hospital, officials said.

"This unimaginable tragedy has taken the lives of a parent and two young children," Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. "Our investigators will work tirelessly to determine the full circumstances of this incident, and we extend our deepest sympathies to the family as they navigate this profound loss."
