5 File for 4 Rochester City Council Seats

City of Rochester election will be Nov. 5.

Five candidates have filed for four open Rochester City Council seats, according to the city clerk's office.

Incumbent Mayor Stuart Bikson, Mayor Pro Tem Jeffrey Cuthbertson and Councilmember Cathy Daldin will look to retain their seats, while challengers Ann Peterson and Rob Ray lookin to join the council. The five candidates submitted petition signatures ahead of Tuesday's 4 p.m. filing deadline. 

The top three vote-getters will earn four-year terms, while the candidate with the fourth-highest amount of votes will be elected to a two-year term.

There will not be a primary for the Nov. 5 general election.

A message was left Tuesday with Rochester Hills' clerks office for candidate names.
