5 Ways to Cool Down in Rochester Today

It's summer and it's hot. We're here to help.
Here are five ways to cool down this week in Rochester.
1. Enjoy Wet & Wild Wednesdays Today at Museum
Bring the kids to Van Hoosen Museum, 1005 Van Hoosen Road, from noon-2 p.m. today for music from Guy Louis, slip and slides, the fire engine sprinkler and wading in Stoney Creek. $3 per person aged 2 and up.2. Grab Some Frozen Yogurt
The Rochester area has an abundance of frozen yogurt shops. Here are some options:- Sweet Island Yogurt: Bill Brandreth and Larry Winkelmann opened owntown Rochester's only frozen yogurt shop last year.
- Bloomberry Yogurt: It's located in the Papa Joe's plaza at Rochester and Tienken roads.
- Yummie Yogurt: It's in the works at the Village of Rochester Hills this summer. Yummie Yogurt is a family-owned shop based in Farmington Hills.
- Yogurt City Frozen Yogurt: This shop is opening soon in the Target plaza on Rochester Road. It's one of five Michigan locations for the national yogurt shop planned this year.
- TCBY: It's name implies it's "The Country's Best Yogurt." It is located in the Hollywood Market plaza at the corner of Tienken and Rochester roads.
- CoolYo Frozen Yogurt: Located in the Buddy's Plaza across from Oakland University
- Orange Leaf: Orange Leaf, based in Oklahoma City, opened in the plaza anchored by Big Boy and Bar Louie, near Urban Dog.
3. I Scream, You Scream for Ice Cream
Why not go big when the weather gets hot? Dairy Queen, 743 N Main St., is one of Rochester's most popular destinations for cool treats, but you can also grab a scoop at Rockin' Cupcakes, 6930 N Rochester Road. Or you can grab burgers and a shake at Red Knapp's downtown, 304 S. Main St., or at Jake's Wayback Burgers, 2595 S. Rochester Road in Rochester Hills.4. Jump in the Pool!
