Candidates File for Rochester Hills Council, Library Board Seats
Primary election for at-large candidates is Aug. 6 ahead of Nov. 5 general election.
The filing deadline has passed for candidates for the Rochester Hills City Council and Library Board and it appears there might be an Aug. 6 primary ahead of the Nov. 5 general election.
Three candidates—Kevin S. Brown, Sindy Gensman and Jeff Lauth—have filed for the city council's open at-large seat, according to the city clerk's office. With three candidates vying for one seat, an Aug. 6 primary is triggered, but that could change if a candidate withdraws before 4 p.m. on Friday, the clerk's office indicated.
In District 1, Steph Morita is running. Incumbent Ravi Yalamanchi is term-limited and is not eligible for another term.

Thomas Wiggins and Lisa Winarski will compete for District 4. Incumbent Nathan Klomp did not submit signatures ahead of Tuesday's 4 p.m. deadline, according to the clerk's office.
The City Council terms are all four-year terms.

In the race for Library Board, Robert Bonam and Anne Kucher will run unopposed for two six-year terms.
