Fatal Car Accident On E. Auburn Rd : One Victim Dead

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI-- Deputies responded to the area of E. Auburn Rd. east of S. Rochester Rd. where a 2 car accident was reported. The driver of a 2002 Buick Regal was northbound pulling out of a private driveway.

As the driver was crossing the lanes of E. Auburn Road to get to the adjacent private driveway he was struck by a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. The driver of the Chevrolet was heading westbound on E. Auburn Road.

During the collision the Buick Regal was pushed into a 2014 Buick Enclave, the Enclave was stopped in a driveway waiting to enter onto E. Auburn Road. An 85-year-old resident of Troy was seated in the front passenger seat of the Buick Regal had to be extricated by the City of Rochester Hills Fire Department, the victim was transported by paramedics to Beaumont Hospital in Troy, where she was later pronounced dead.

Driver of the Buick Regal was also taken to Beaumont Hospital with serious injuries, he is listed in stable condition. Both drivers of the Chervolet Silverado and Buick Encalve were not injured during this crash. Officials said that alcohol was not involved in this crash, and all vehicle occupants had been wearing their seatbelts during the time of the incident.

The crash remains under further investigation.
