Five Below to Open First Rochester Hills Store Next Month
The store will open July 20 in the site of the former China King on Rochester Road.

From duct tape to yoga mats to flip flops, the next discount store on its way to Rochester Hills promises to have something for every teen and tween.Â
Five Below, which sells items for $1 to $5, will open on Rochester Road next to next month.
The store was founded in 2002 by David Schlessinger, creator and founder of Encore Books and Zany Brainy, and Tom Vellios, former CEO of Zany Brainy, according to the store's website. There are more than 200 locations in 17 states.Â

There are eight stores in Michigan, with seven more opening in July.Â
The closest locations are in Troy (at Oakland Square on John R Road) and Orion Township, on Baldwin Road.

According to the store's website:
"Five Below’s dynamic assortment of merchandise includes everything from sporting goods, games, fashion accessories and jewelry, to hobbies and collectibles, bath and body, candy and snacks, room décor and storage, stationery and school supplies, video game accessories, books, dvds, iPhone accessories, novelty and 'gag,' and seasonal items.
"Five Below combines exceptional value with trend-right, quality merchandise in a vibrant shopping environment."
The store will open in the location of the former China King buffet restaurant next to Target on Rochester Road.
According to the store's website, the opening is planned for July 20.
