The 38-year-old woman was still in critical condition with multiple significant injuries, while the 56-year-old man was treated and released from the hospital, according to police.

He was placed in the Oakland County Jail without bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 6. He faces life in prison if convicted of felony murder.

Officials said Webb drove a car into a ditch in the area of Ray Road near North Oxford Road at 6:17 p.m. last Tuesday night.

Witnesses told investigators that Wolf, who was a psychologist with a longtime affiliation at McLaren Health Care, pulled behind Webb’s car along the road, according to police.

Investigators believe Wolf stopped to help Webb, but Webb pulled out a 9 mm handgun and fired shots, striking Wolf and her daughter, who was a passenger inside her car, according to police.

The 56-year-old Oxford man, who also stopped to help, was shot in the arm, according to police.

Investigators also spoke with a 39-year-old Oxford Township woman who told them that Webb placed a gun to her head and tried to carjack her at the Park and Ride in Oxford Township, according to police.

The woman was able to get away, according to police.

Officers then found Webb and arrested him in connection with the incidents. Officers also recovered the 9 mm handgun used in the shootings, according to police.

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard called the shooting "heinous on multiple levels" and said Webb "deserves to be held fully accountable and never see the light of day."

"This is another tragic case where a convicted felon with past weapon offenses was out too early and in a position to hurt others," Bouchard said. "There must be changes in our criminal justice system that prevents people who have been caught carrying and using weapons illegally from simply being cycled back out to harm others. They must know of predictable and harsh punishment and receive it when they commit those crimes."

"Instead, we have a grieving family that now will mark a treasured time of year as a
reminder of a preventable murder," Bouchard added.
