ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — Police are looking for a man who exposed himself several times to a group of pre-teenage girls outside two Rochester Hills businesses earlier this summer, according to the sheriff's office.

The incident happened at 4 p.m. on June 29 outside the Shake Shack at 66 N. Adams Road and the Barnes and Noble Bookstore at 200 N. Adams Road in the Village of Rochester Hills, police said.

The girls told investigators they were sitting outside the restaurant when the man walked by them and lifted his shirt, police said.

He again lifted his shirt and exposed his "privates," police said.

The girls yelled at the man after the second instance and he quickened his pace, police said.

Several adult women were nearby and asked the girls if they needed help, police said.

The man took off running through an open-air food court and into the parking lot where he was last seen, police said.

Police believe he may have been involved in a similar incident in Auburn Hills earlier that same day. No other details about that incident were released.

Police believe he is between 20 and 30 years old and has blondish-brown hair. He was wearing sunglasses, a gray collared shirt, and greenish-gray cargo shorts at the time.

"We are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and apprehending this disturbing individual," Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. "Repeatedly targeting young girls and exposing oneself is not only vile – it’s a serious crime. History has shown that this kind of behavior can escalate into even more dangerous acts, including sexual violence. Now is the time to intervene and stop it before it goes any further."

Police asked anyone who can identify the man to call the Sheriff’s Office at 248-858-4950.
