Need To Know: 20th Annual Rochester Garden Walk
Explore the plants, landscaping and personality of Rochester residents at the 20th annual event this year.

ROCHESTER, MI — Tickets are on sale now for the 20th Annual Rochester Garden Walk on June 20, 2019. The annual Rochester Garden Walk provides the opportunity to spend a day learning about plants and gardens while being inspired by beautiful plantings and landscapes.
The event is co-sponsored by the Rochester Garden Club and The Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm, and it showcases private gardens in the greater Rochester area that attendees tour at their own pace.
"The private gardens reveal each owner’s personality and passions," organizers said. "You will see gardens of all sizes with unique plants, gorgeous landscapes and fascinating garden art."

Guests can visit the Rochester Hills Museum grounds, which are located at the historic Van Hoosen Farm homestead. Participants will be able to stroll through the Calf Barn, the Dairy Barn, the Rochester Hills Museum and historic plantings surrounding the 1840 Van Hoosen Farmhouse as well as the award-winning Children’s Garden.
An Open-Air Market featuring Michigan artisans will be on the Museum grounds from 10am to 4pm. Shoppers will find unique creations in metal designs, garden art, and pottery, plants for the garden, fabric work and vintage finds. A local organic grower, Cold Frame Farm, will be here, so bring a cooler for your car to fill with delicious organic vegetables. The Rochester Garden Club will have native plants for sale.
Another perennial favorite of the annual walk is the Cookie Room located in the Dairy Barn. Rochester Garden Club members welcome guests to refresh themselves with cookies and lemonade.
Local nurseries Bordine’s, Fogler’s, Telly’s and Piechnik’s, and several local restaurants, are offering discounts and special sales when the garden walk ticket is presented. Special Thanks to our business sponsor – US Scuba Center.
Tickets and other info
Advance tickets can be bought until June 19 through Pay Pal at www.rochesterhills.org/musprograms, on-site at the Rochester Hills Museum, at Bordine’s Nursery (Rochester location), Lytle Pharmacy and Piechniks Garden Gate.
The Rochester Hills Museum is located at 1005 Van Hoosen Road, off Tienken Road between Rochester and Dequindre Roads.
