Oakland County's Bicentennial Celebrated In Rochester Hills
Year 2020 marks Oakland County's bicentennial, and the celebration happens at the Rochester Hills Public Library with Historian Jim Craft.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — The year 2020 marks Oakland County’s bicentennial, and the celebration happens at the Rochester Hills Public Library with Historian Jim Craft. Craft will share the history of Oakland County and present a reprint of 1877 History of Oakland County as a gift to the library.
“It is an honor to be able to speak about the rich and vast history of our county,” Craft said, “I can’t think of a better way of honoring our past than by sharing it."
1877 History of Oakland County was originally printed by LH Everts of Philadelphia. Craft will discuss the content of the book, as well as how it applies to general interest readers, researchers, and teachers. In addition to making the gift, Craft will also cover a brief history of Oakland County in the 1870s.
