Rochester-Rochester Hills Voter Guide 2025: Who's On Ballot, Where To Vote

A millage renewal and several city council seats are on the ballot.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — Election Day is Nov. 4 in Michigan, and there are several key races to watch in Rochester and Rochester Hills.

Voters in Rochester Hills will decide a millage renewal and several city council seats. Voters in Rochester will decide city council seats.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. You can also still register at your clerk's office and vote at your local precinct. Here is a map for Rochester Hills residents and one for Rochester residents.

RARA Millage Renewal

Rochester Hills voters will decide a millage renewal focused on the Rochester-Avon Recreation Authority. The tax helps support:

  • Recreation programs including art, music, culinary, STEM & more
  • Performing arts and wellness programs
  • Free community events like movies in the park, tons of trucks & more
  • Essential services like summer camps and break camps
  • Preschool fundamentals and motor skill development
  • Adaptive services that support our special needs population

The millage is not a tax increase, but a continuation of the current funding that RARA receives from the residents of Rochester Hills.

If passed, it will authorize a tax levy of 0.1802 mills over the next 10 years beginning in 2026. In other words, the owner of a home with a market value of $400,000 and a taxable value of $200,000 would pay approximately $36.04 per year.

The RARA millage has been renewed three times since 1976.

Other Key Races

Rochester Hills voters will decide an at-large city council seat (4-year term). Running for that seat is Ben Galliway and Mark Skelcy. Voters in the first district will also elect a council member to a four-year term. Running for that seat is Max Donovan and Diana Mannino.

Voters in Rochester will also decide city council seats. Eight candidates are running for four seats. The three highest vote getters will get a four-year term, while the fourth-highest vote getter will get a two-year term.

The candidates are: Dan Bachmann, Jessica Clauser, Christian Hauser, Richard Kendziuk, Sara King, Ann Peterson, Steve Sage and Nancy L. Salvia.

Rochester voters will also decide another city council seat that will expire in November 2027.

Running for that seat includes Stuart Bikson and Kyle T. Houston.
