Community Corner
Sing-Along Event Held At Rochester Hills Public Library
At this event, attendees can experience the power of song and musical participation.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — A sing-along event is bringing the community together at the Rochester Hill library.
The Rochester Hills Public Library will host community singer Matt Watroba for a holiday sing-along concert at 3 p.m. on Dec. 22. Watroba has a knack for picking the perfect songs and stories for his audience. Whether in concert, at a festival, in a library, a school, or park, music-lovers can count on a performance that will get them singing, laughing, and feeling a bit better about the world.
Organizers say community singing is not performing. It exists so that all willing singers, at all levels of skill, can experience the power of song and musical participation.

Watroba has gained a following from his radio work both locally in Detroit and nationally through folkalley.com, and as the founding host of “The Sing Out! Radio Magazine.”
“Every community sing I’ve been involved with takes on the personality of the group that gathers,” Watroba said. “For this reason, there are no hard and fast rules that work for everyone.”
