Snyder Appoints PNC Bank Executive to OU Board

Gov. Rick Snyder on July 3 announced the appointment of Ric DeVore, of Bloomfield Hills, to the Oakland University Board of Trustees, according to a news release from Gov. Snyder's office.

The eight-person board is the governing body of the university.

 "Ric is an accomplished professional and I look forward to the positive contributions he will make to the university," Snyder said.

DeVore is an executive vice president of PNC Bank, a member of the PNC Financial Services Group, according to the news release. Prior to his current responsibilities, he was credit executive for commercial lending and oversaw credit training for PNC Bank. In addition, DeVore served as National City Bank's chief credit officer. DeVore joined PNC in 1991 and has over 34 years of experience with financial institutions. He was named executive vice president at PNC in 2001. DeVore holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in business from Wayne State University, where he taught banking and finance courses for four years.

 DeVore will serve the remainder of an eight-year term expiring Aug. 11, 2020, and his appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate, the news release indicated. DeVore will replace Dennis Pawley, who resigned.
