• Macomb County organizations have more kids that need gifts, and not enough donations (macombdaily.com) — Families with children in Romeo schools are seeing higher need for holiday help this year, and the R & E Family Foundation is stepping up to support more local students with essentials and gifts. Alongside Friends of Foster Kids and Macomb County Toys for Tots, organizers report rising requests and urge residents who can to donate so no child is left out.
   

• Arguments in lawsuit for safety and mental health funding to be heard on Thursday (macombdaily.com) — Romeo Community Schools is one of several Michigan districts suing the state over new conditions tied to $321 million in school safety and mental health grants, arguing required waivers of legal privilege are unconstitutional and vague. The Michigan Court of Claims will hear arguments Thursday, and districts, including Romeo, must decide by Dec. 30 whether to keep or opt out of the funding depending on the ruling.
