Arts, Beats And Eats Parking Options Abound

Surface lots, decks and a shuttle will give visitors a choice of where to park.

ROYAL OAK, MI — While parking always seems to be an issue in Royal Oak, organizers of the Arts, Beats and Eats festival will have a number of options to help accommodate the expected large crowds starting Friday. Shuttle service, surface lots and parking decks will be available.

Riding a shuttle will be free, but parking at a shuttle lot will cost $10. Royal Oak High School, located north of 13 Mile Road off of Crooks, will serve as the shuttle lot. Shuttles will and run Saturday - Sunday from 10:30am - 12:30am and Monday from 10:30am - 10:30pm.

The shuttle will drop off at Second Street and Washington Avenue by the Post Office in downtown.

Visitors can park at one of 11 decks and lots. The cost will be $15. Locations of the lots and structures can be found here.

Visitors will not be allowed to park at Royal Oak parking meters throughout Arts, Beats and Eats.

The festival, which is sponsored by Ford Motor Company, runs Sept. 1-4. The festival goes from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday - Sunday and from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Labor Day.
More than 200 musical acts are lined up for Arts, Beats and Eats, too. Eight stages will be featured and cover rock, blues, jazz, R&B and even a little folk music.

Food, of course, course is a big part of Arts, Beats and Eats. More than 40 Metro Detroit restaurants will provide the cuisine.
