Burglar Capitalizes on Unlocked Window, Vandal Damages Car with Trashcan

Highlights from Royal Oak Police Department reports from the past week:
Thief enters home through unlocked window
- 3900 block of Normandy, June 15: A woman reported someone entered her home through an unlocked window. The suspect took a new flat screen television and jewelry.
Car stolen
- 1100 block of S Lafayette, June 16: A man reported someone stole his 1995 red Acura Integra.
Items taken from unlocked vehicles
- 600 block of W Lincoln, June 17: A man reported someone stole his Bosch hammer drill from his unlocked vehicle.
- 1900 block of Kalama, June 19: A man reported someone stole three credit cards from his unlocked vehicle.
Items stolen at McDonald’s, Shrine
- 30807 Woodward, McDonalds, June 15: A woman reported she left her purse on the table inside the restaurant and someone stole her purse containing rings, watches and credit cards.
- 3500 W. 13 Mile, Shrine High School, June 19: The school reported someone stole lawn equipment from a storage garage.
Vandal strikes car with trashcan
- Fifth and Williams, June 15: A man reported someone keyed his parked vehicle.
- 405 E. Fourth, Ideation Signs and Communication, June 17: A man reported someone smashed the front glass door.
- 1500 block of N. Altadena, June 15: A woman reported she heard a loud noise and looked out the window of her house. She saw a dark colored sedan driving northbound on Altadena. The front passenger of the vehicle hit her vehicle with a dark trashcan causing damage to the driver’s side mirror and the left side of the vehicle.
Arrest at motel
- 111 W. 12 Mile, City Motel, June 19: Royal Oak Officers conducted a motel check and arrested someone with two outstanding warrants from other jurisdictions.
