Hazardous Weather Expected Today and Tonight

A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for portions of southeast Michigan, including Royal Oak, for today.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the chance for thunderstorms is possible today and tonight.

"The best chance will be from 3-9 p.m., during the warmest part of the day. Severe weather is not expected but the strongest storms will be capable of heavey downpours and possibly a wind gust around 30 mph," the outlook states.

Lingering storms will be possible Sunday through Wednesday. The slow movement of the system will make flooding a concern on Sunday.

A cold front moves in on Wednesday that will be strong enough to sweep the warm and humid air out of the area, according to the NWS.
