'Made in the Mitten' Joins Downtown Royal Oak
Locally crafted items, plus an assortment of Michigan favorites like Faygo soda and Better Made potato chips featured at new shop.

ROYAL OAK, MI — Faygo red pop. Better Made potato chips. Great Lakes Raw Honey. Those are just a few of the products visitors to “Made in the Mitten” can expect to find in the new Royal Oak shop, according to a Detroit News report.
Opened in August, the S. Washington store provides a home to Michigan crafters and products that are, well, Made in the Mitten. Berkley resident Colleen McClue opened the shop with the idea of helping local entrepreneurs build their business beyond weekend festivals and craft shows.

“It’s growing every week since we opened, and we’ve (just) signed an additional six more people. We’ve also started getting food products, like Faygo, Better Made, and some other well-known Michigan snacks and treats,” McClue recently told the Detroit News.
“I’m not aiming to make this place a high-end gift shop, and I’ve not heard anyone say something is too expensive,” said McClue.
