The Royal Oak Board of Education unanimously approved the appointment of Patrick Murphy as Operations Manager of Royal Oak Schools. He succeeds Art Watson who is retiring this year after 37 years of service to the district.
Murphy has 20 years of facilities and operations expertise. His prior experience includes 12 years of service with the Rochester Community Schools where he served as manager of maintenance and grounds. He also worked as the director of facilities and operations for Christ Church Grosse Pointe and the Cranbrook Educational Community. In 2007 he was named a Michigan School Business Officials Meridian Award Winner for Innovation in School Business Practice.
