In a time when bad news seems to dominate the airwaves, The Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce is launching its annual search for the BEST of Royal Oak, asking local residents to look around and identify homeowners, individuals, organizations and businesses who truly “stand out” and make a difference in our community.
“It’s very important to take time to recognize and call attention to all the good happening in our community,” explained Chamber Executive Director Shelly Kemp. “The Chamber hosts the Community Awards to celebrate those businesses and individuals who go to great lengths to make life in Royal Oak beautiful, fun, safe and special for all of us.”
The Community Awards annually honor businesses and residents who provide significant contributions to Royal Oak, through areas including volunteer work, service, building beautification, home and landscape beautification, community spirit and achievement. The 2013 Awards will recognize the Citizen of the Year, Business Person of the Year, Community Spirit, Residential Beautification, Residential Landscaping Beautification and Business Beautification, as well as Outstanding Officers in the Fire and Police departments. Residents and business owners are invited to complete a Nomination Form and submit it for consideration to the Community Awards Committee for review
