Royal Oak Chamber Shows Off Its Newly Remodeled Home

After five weeks of construction, the Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce is back in business at 200 S. Washington Ave.

"The space just looks so much more professional," said Shelly Kemp, executive director. "It looks like we mean business."

The remodeling work includes reconfiguring the lobby, conference room and offices and installing new carpet, flooring, paint and some new technology, according to contractor Debbie Aliotta, of Tri-Pups, Inc.

Kemp said the project is being paid for partly with savings from refinancing and from funds set aside for the renovation work. The building, which was purchased more than a decade ago, was previously used as a dentist's office.

"We're really proud of our new space," Kemp said. "We've had a few people that were chamber shopping and they walked in here and said, 'You win!' It's awesome. They see our space and they know we are dead serious."
