Royal Oak Police See String Of Thefts From Vehicles

These reports are a good reminder of the importance of locking car doors.

ROYAL OAK, MI — The Royal Oak Police dealt with several cases of larceny from a motor vehicle in the last week, according to the city’s police reports. Between Nov. 8-15, the Royal Oak Police Department responded to at least five reports and in each case, the suspects had left their car doors unlocked.

Here’s a look at the reports filed:
  • Overnight on Nov. 11, a resident in the 1000 block of East Lincoln Avenue reported her purse and wallet stolen from her unlocked car.
  • Overnight on Nov. 12, a resident in the 600 block of Gainsborough Avenue reported his rifle cleaning supplies missing from his unlocked SUV.Overnight on Nov. 12, a resident in the 700 block of Gainsborough reported miscellaneous paperwork stolen from their unlocked vehicle. Overnight on Nov. 12, a resident in the 900 block of East Fifth Avenue reported tools and a pair of sunglasses stolen from his unlocked Jeep.
  • Overnight on Nov. 13, a resident of the 2000 block of Wickham Street reported her wallet stolen from her unlocked vehicle.
