Thieves Pose as Utility Workers and More on Police Blotter

Highlights from Royal Oak Police Department reports from the past week:
Thieves pose utility workers
1600 block of Wyandotte, June 2: A man reported someone posing as a utility worker approached him. The man distracted the homeowner while a person entered the house and stole and cash from the home. The suspects may be driving a white four-door sedan, possibly a Buick Elantra, with tinted windows and an out of state license plate.
The man who distracted the homeowner was described as Hispanic and 5-feet 8-inches tall.

The person who entered the home was described as a black male in his 20s, 5-feet 5-inches, medium build, blue shirt and an identification card attached to a lanyard around his neck.
900 block of S. Campbell, June 2: A woman reported someone entered her home through a window on the southeast side of the residence. Nothing was taken from the home. The woman believes the person was scared off by her dogs.

3900 block of Normandy, June 3: A man reported someone entered his house through the side door and stole an X-Box 360 game system and two wristwatches.
Thief attempts to steal car
Fifth and Troy, June 2: A man reported someone attempted to steal his Red 2001 Chrysler Sebring.
Tiger flag stolen from front porch and more
2000 block of E. Harwood, June 1: A man reported someone stole his Detroit Tigers flag from his front porch.
25252 Woodward (L.A. Fitness), May 31: A man reported someone stole his gym bag out of his locker. The gym bag contained his wallet, credit cards, identification and keys.
4100 block of Elmhurst, June 5: A man reported someone entered his open garage and stole a bicycle. The man observed a white Ford Ranger driving slowly through the area just prior to the theft.
700 block of S. Kenwood, June 4: A man reported someone stole a TomTom GPS unit and a Blackberry Bluetooth out of his vehicle.
Graffitists target businesses
112 E. Third Street (Rock on Third), May 31: Staff reported someone spray painted graffiti on the south and west walls of the business.
300 block of S. Main, May 31: Staff reported someone spray painted graffiti on the dumpster behind the business.
2400 block of Rochester, June 5: A man reported someone spray painted graffiti on the south side of the vacant business.
1000 block of Mohawk, June 3: A man reported someone broke the window on the side door of his house.
Thieves target cars

3000 block of Bamlet, May 31: A woman reported someone stole a Dell laptop computer and wallet out of her vehicle.
2800 block of Bamlet, May 31: A man reported someone stole an iPod touch out of his vehicle.
3400 block of Hillside Drive, May 31: A woman reported someone stole the catalytic converter off of her 2001 Chevy Cavalier.
3000 block of Bamlet, May 31: A man reported someone stole loose change and an iPod charger out of his vehicle.
2000 block of E. Harwood, June 1: A man reported someone stole a wheel off of his 2003 Chevy Malibu.
700 block of S. Vermont, June 2: A woman reported someone stole the license plate off of her Gray 2004 Ford Taurus.
3600 block of Hunter, June 3: A woman reported someone stole a diamond ring out of her vehicle.
