Thieves Target Laptops, Electronic Devices

Highlights from Royal Oak Police Department reports from the past week:

Thief takes laptop from apartment

  • 1300 block of W. Farnum, May 24: A woman reported someone entered her apartment and stole a laptop computer. 

Items taken from vehicles

  • 4900 block of Elmhurst, May 25: A man reported someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole miscellaneous tools and a snowplow controller.
  • 100 block of Kenilworth, May 28: A man reported someone stole his laptop computer out of his vehicle. 
  • 100 block of Rhode Island, May 28: A man reported someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole an iPod and loose change from the vehicle. 

iPhone stolen at YMCA

  • 1016 W. 11 Mile (YMCA), May 29: A man reported someone stole his iPhone 5 out of his locker. Vehicles damaged 
  • Seventh Street & Washington, May 26: A woman reported her ex-husband damaged her vehicle while she was stopped on the roadway. 
  • 4100 block of W. 13 Mile, May 24: A man reported someone scratched his vehicle and broke out the driver’s side window. The person fled the area in a silver vehicle.  

Motel check

  • 111 W. 12 Mile (City Motel), May 29: During a motel check, police found a person wanted for a parole violation.
