What's Missing on 11 Mile Road?
It's pop quiz time! Can you name five things that are gone on 11 Mile Road now that construction is in full swing?
The streetscape of 11 Mile Road is changing in Royal Oak.
This week, workers began pouring new sidewalks on the north side of the road. When the $1.9 million makeover is complete there will be new sidewalks and Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant ramps from Troy Street to Campbell Road. Water mains will be replaced where needed, and curbs and gutters will be installed to correct long-standing drainage problems.
With so much construction going on, it's hard to remember what the road looked like in May before the work began.
