National Council of Jewish Women, Michigan, Announces 20th Anniversary of Wrapped in Love, a Blanket Donation Program for Children in Crisis or in Hospital (michiganmamanews.com) — A Southfield‑based nonprofit is celebrating 20 years of its Wrapped in Love blanket program, which comforts children in crisis and in hospitals across metro Detroit. Volunteers meet weekly at the Lahser Road office to create handmade fleece blankets for agencies like Orchards Children’s Services and Kids Kicking Cancer in Southfield and beyond.
   

5. They Thought Their Mom Died by Suicide — Until Surveillance Footage Revealed It Was Staged By Her Son. Inside the Brutal Murder (people.com) — A Farmington Hills family’s tragedy has a Southfield connection: victim Nada Huranieh taught fitness at Franklin Athletic Club here before she was killed in 2017. Investigators later ruled her death a homicide and surveillance footage helped convict her then-teenage son, who is now serving 35 to 60 years in a Michigan prison while continuing to deny involvement.
