• Past, present and future on display (thenewsherald.com) — Students from Southgate and other Downriver districts can access dozens of hands-on career and technical programs through the Downriver Career Technical Consortium, which now includes advanced fields like mechatronics and EMT training. Led by longtime Southgate educator John Nasarzewski, the consortium partners with area colleges and Ford’s Flat Rock Assembly Plant, and is expanding into a new Trenton hub backed by recent state funding.
