HARRISON TOWNSHIP, MI — Two kids and two adults were injured in a boat explosion Sunday in Macomb County, according to the sheriff's office.

The incident happened at 3:45 p.m. Sunday in Belvedere Bay in Harrison Township, officials said.

Officials said the group was preparing to leave the bay when the engine compartment flamed up and exploded. The four individuals were ejected from the boat, officials said.

A Good Samaritan on the lake helped them get to shore.

Medical personnel treated them at the scene and eventually took three of them to a nearby hospital, where they were listed in stable condition, officials said.

Firefighters extinguished the burning vessel and had it towed out of the lake, officials said.

Investigators do not believe there was any foul play in the explosion.
