ROSEVILLE, MI — An 11-month-old boy has died after police said he was abused by his babysitter in Roseville, according to a report.
Police were called to a hospital June 14 after the Roseville boy was admitted with severe head injuries, police said, according to WDIV.
The boy’s mother picked her son up from her neighbor, who babysat him while she was working.

The babysitter, identified as Kimora Launmei Hodges, 21, of Roseville, had watched the boy for about two months, authorities said. The babysitter called for an ambulance when the boy looked abnormal. The child underwent surgery at a hospital and police said Wednesday the boy died of his injuries.
"The Roseville Police Department is sad to report that the 11-month-old has passed away," Police Chief Ryan Monroe said in a statement, according to The Detroit News. "We will be working with the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office to enhance the criminal charges on Miss Hodges. We will update those charges once they are formalized."

Police said the abuse happened June 13 on the 30000 block of Little Mack Avenue in Roseville.
Hodges was initially charged with child abuse.
A GoFundMe account created by Taylor Starks, the boy's mother, has raised more than $12,000. More than 300 people have donated.
"My baby had blood force trauma to the head & was bleeding out of his ears because his brain was swelling so badly that he needed brain surgery right away," she said in the GoFundMe description.
