The fire lit up a multi-family home at 12 Washington St. on Dec. 20. Macomb County Sheriff's Office Deputies were dispatched to the scene at 2:23 p.m. and a sheriff command officer used a patrol car fire extinguisher to put out the blaze.

Witnesses told Deputies the arsonist was a white man, approximately 50-years-old, with gray hair and was wearing a black or green coat. After speaking with the landlord, Deputies narrowed in on a suspect: Soulliere, a former tenant. Detectives believe Soulliere was mistakenly identified as a man by witnesses.
