Lakers Skate To Pair of Ties in Showcase

St. Clair Shores Unified’s hockey team scored twice in the final four minutes of the third period, including goal with 14 seconds left, to rally to a 4-4 tie against Waterford Kettering on Saturday in the Michigan High School Public Showcase at Chelsea.

Stephen Soloway, Nick Schultz and Michael DiFranco also scored for St. Clair Shores.

Austin Lane added two assists, and Schultz also had an assist.

On Thursday in the showcase, St. Clair Shores skated to another 4-4 tie against Royal Oak.

Soloway, , David Metzke and Austin Bucholz scored for the Lakers, who out-shot Royal Oak 43-13.

Nick Izaguirre had two assists, and Bucholz, Schultz, Metzke and Guzzardo also had assists.

St. Clair Shores (8-9-3 overall) plays two home games this week at . The Lakers host Livonia Stevenson on Wednesday and Dakota on Saturday. Both games are at 8 p.m.
