Metro Detroit Teen Charged In Stabbing: Police

It was not immediately clear if the teen was charged as an adult or a juvenile.​

DETROIT — A Roseville teen is facing charges after stabbing a 15-year-old boy at Campus Martius Park in Detroit over the weekend, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.

The 16-year-old girl, whose name has not been released, was charged with one count of felonious assault. It was not immediately clear if the girl was charged as an adult or a juvenile. If convicted of felonious assault, she faces up to four years in prison and/or a $2,000 fine.

The stabbing happened at 6:11 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit, according to prosecutors.

Prosecutors said the two teens got into an argument before the girl stabbed the boy multiple times in the stomach with a pocketknife. The boy was taken to a nearby hospital where he was initially listed in serious condition, according to prosecutors.

Prosecutors did not share an update on the boy's condition on Monday.

Officers arrested the girl in connection with the stabbing shortly later, according to prosecutors.

Prosecutors did not say what sparked the argument.

All future court hearings will be held in Macomb County.
