EASTPOINTE, MI β€” A 21-year-old man who was shot during a deadly Macomb County shooting last weekend has been charged, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office.

Dejuan Jermain Taylor, of Detroit, was charged with tampering with evidence, firearms larceny, carrying a concealed weapon and larceny less than $200. He was placed in jail with a $250,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for May 20.

The charges come just after a 19-year-old woman, who is Taylor's sister, turned herself in to police in connection with the shooting that left two dead and two wounded outside a Foot Locker store located at the corner of East 8 Mile and Kelly roads in Eastpointe, according to police.

Police said Taylor was in the shoe store's parking lot along with his 19-year-old sister when another group of people appeared. The two groups began arguing before Taylor got into a fight with another person, who had a gun, police said.

Taylor was soon overpowered and on the ground while the group continued to pummel him, police said.

Police said Taylor’s sister ran back to her car and grabbed a gun. She then fired multiple shots into the group, killing two and injuring two, including Taylor, police said.

Taylor then got up and took the gun and some magazines on the ground from one of the injured people, and then fled the scene with his sister, police said.

As of Wednesday afternoon, charges against the 19-year-old woman were still pending.

"This was a senseless act of violence," Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido said. "We hope this serves as a powerful reminder that such acts of violence will not be tolerated, and justice will be pursued to the fullest extent of the law."
