Man Fatally Stabs Roommate At Metro Detroit Group Home: Prosecutor
Prosecutors said the stabbing stemmed from an argument.

EASTPOINTE, MI — A 57-year-old man faces up to life in prison after stabbing his roommate to death at a metro Detroit group home earlier this week, according to prosecutors.
Prosecutors said the stabbing happened at an Eastpointe home where officers found a 32-year-old man suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to Henry Ford St. John Hospital in Detroit where he died, according to prosecutors.
Michael Hogoboom, of Eastpointe, was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the stabbing. He was placed in jail with a $1 million bond.

Prosecutors said Hogoboom stabbed the man to death inside the home during an argument Monday. Hogoboom shared the home with the victim and five other people, prosecutors said.

"While conflicts may arise between individuals, resorting to violence is never the answer. It undermines not only the lives directly affected but the stability of our society as a whole. Our office will pursue this case with the utmost seriousness to ensure accountability and to reaffirm that law and order must prevail," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
