Metro Detroit McDonald's Stabbing Victim Was Single Mom Of 6: Reports

Police said the stabbing stemmed from a fight the two workers had earlier in the day.

EASTPOINTE, MI — A metro Detroit McDonald's employee who was fatally stabbed by a co-worker Thursday was a single mom of six, according to local reports.

News reports identified the victim as 39-year-old Jennifer "Jamma" Harris, who had worked at McDonald's for 15 years.

"She was so good to everybody," her daughter Antonia Griffin told Fox 2 Detroit. "I don't understand why she had to kill her."

Police said a customer who witnessed the stabbing fired a shot to try and stop the attack. No one was struck by the bullet, but it did stop the attack, police said.

The 26-year-old Eastpointe resident tried to run away after the attack, but she was detained by the armed witness until officers arrested her, police said.

Harris was taken to a nearby hospital where she died, police said.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case and determine the appropriate charges.

Police were still investigating the stabbing and asked anyone with information to call Det. Showers at 586-445-9415.
